1.Read the text and answer the questions
In Russia there is a helpline similar to Childline in
Britain and it is called “All-Russian helpline for
children, teens and their parents”. ( "Единый общероссийский телефон доверия для детей, подростков и их родителей").It is a nationwide organization
that works in 67 regions in Russia. Kids Helpline is a free 24 hour counselling service. It is for kids and
teens to explain their feelings to someone, to tell about their problems. In this helpline specially trained people -
counsellors and qualified psychologist-consultants talk to kids, teens and
their parents and help them with all sorts of problems, big and small. The most
important aim is to relieve psychoemotional tension, which people have at the
moment of calling and to save a person who has called from reckless and
dangerous actions. It is a free service, everyone can call at any moment, it is
anonymous and it works round the clock. There are different competitions and
organized events as well.
Statistics. 3.5% of calls in Russia are about violence
or abuse of children. A further 3.3% are about violation of the rights of
children. 21% are complaints about problems at home, and another 21% - problems
at school. In 13.7% the problems are with peers; while 13.2% phone to talk
about social and psychological issues.
